Cornbread

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup yellow cornmeal

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 4 tbsp sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup milk

  • 4 tbsp melted butter or oil

Make it

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. In mixing bowl, combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

  3. Add egg and milk. Stir in butter.

  4. Pour into greased 8x8 inch square pan or use muffin pan. Filled to ¾ full.

  5. Cook until golden brown and no longer moist in center. Use toothpick to check.
